The railway equipment manufacturer received an order worth 4 billion francs

Mobility » The biggest contract in the history of Stadler: the Swiss company based in Bussnang (TG) announced yesterday that it will supply up to 504 Citylink tram-trains (including 246 firm orders for 1.7 billion euros) to an Austro-German consortium, for a total amount of four billion francs. “We are proud that our proven vehicle concept has won an international tender”, reacts Gerda Königstorfer, director of communication of the manufacturer.
A total of six transport companies in Germany and Austria placed this order together. Among them, that of the city of Karlsruhe (D) which a few years ago chose the concept of the tram-train, a rail vehicle as suitable for traffic in the city as on railways outside built-up areas.
