You don’t need to be a master chef to prepare this dish. All you need is ingenuity, because potato casserole with bacon can contain the ingredients we like the most.

Meat can be combined with vegetables, egg and of course a delicious sauce. What mix of ingredients and proportions we choose depends solely on our creativity. Today we propose a few recipes that you can reach for when taking a popular dish called casserole to the workshop.

Bacon and potatoes – a harmonious duo

If we care about a slim figure, it is not worth reaching for this combination too often. Eaten from time to time, however, certainly does not hurt. But what other ingredients to use to make the casserole taste the best?

An egg will certainly be great, but also cheese (including the ripening one), onion, mushrooms and grilled vegetables, and even chives. Although the idea of ​​using fruit in a casserole sounds quite bold, it is worth knowing that bacon goes well with mango, plum, pineapple or pear. We can opt out of the sauce in this dish, but if we decide to reach for it, it can be cream or cheese. Herbs such as rosemary, dill or thyme will definitely give the flavor.

Potato casserole with bacon and egg

Nutritious and extremely filling Casserole With Potatoes. In this version it can be served with kefir or curdled milk. We need:

  • 1 kg of potatoes,
  • 2 onions,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 200 g of bacon,
  • 250 g of cheese,
  • 500 g mushrooms,
  • 300 g of broccoli,
  • 250 ml of cream 18%,
  • spices (ground garlic, salt, pepper, sweet paprika, nutmeg).

Cut the boiled potatoes into slices. We do the same with eggs. Finely chop the onion, cut the bacon into strips and fry the whole thing in a pan, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cut the mushrooms into slices and fry, and boil the broccoli in salted water. Layer the ingredients prepared in this way in a greased ovenproof dish, starting with the potatoes. Then put on them a layer of onions with bacon, a layer of mushrooms, broccoli and sprinkle with cheese grated on thick holes. Finally, add the sliced ​​eggs. The number of layers depends on the height of our dish. The last layer should consist of potatoes. Sprinkle the top with cheese, and pour the garlic-pepper sauce (prepared from cream and spices). Put the prepared casserole in the oven set at 180 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes. When the top is browned, the casserole is ready.

Potato casserole with bacon and vegetables

  • 1 kg of potatoes,
  • 2 onions,
  • 150 g of bacon,
  • 200 g parmesan cheese,
  • a can of corn,
  • a can of pineapple,
  • 15 cherry tomatoes,
  • 150 g gouda cheese to sprinkle on top,
  • spices (salt, pepper, sweet paprika, basil, thyme).

Boil the potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Fry the chopped onion with bacon and halves of cherry tomatoes. Pour all the ingredients into a heat-resistant dish: potatoes, tomatoes, onions, bacon, tomatoes, drained pieces of pineapple and corn, as well as grated Parmesan cheese and, of course, spices (in the amount we like). Mix everything together and sprinkle generously with grated cheese on top. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

Potato casserole with bacon and spinach

Creamy, rich in iron casserole with bacon will be a great culinary proposition for dinner meal.

We need:

  • 700 g potatoes,
  • package of frozen spinach,
  • 200 g of cheddar cheese,
  • 2 tomatoes,
  • 3 eggs,
  • 150 g smoked bacon,
  • 1 onion,
  • 200 g of melted cream cheese,
  • 200 ml of cream 18%,
  • minced garlic,
  • a spoonful of butter,
  • salt and pepper,
  • nutmeg.

Boil potatoes and cut into slices. Defrost the spinach in a pan with a tablespoon of butter, and finally add a pinch of minced garlic and melted cheese. The onion should be glazed in a heated pan, and then add the bacon cut into cubes. Prepare the sauce for the dish by mixing the cream with salt, pepper, nutmeg and eggs. Arrange the ingredients in layers in a heat-resistant dish in the order: potatoes, spinach, onion and bacon, putting each of them with a thin layer of sauce. Decorate the top with a layer of cheese and tomato slices. Bake for about 25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
